Why is the match for the QF Spain/Russia - Croatia/Denmark oddly timed? They play last in the QF while they play during 2nd day the Round of 16? The other teams won't have the same rest day count.

I think they want to play the teams that will meet in the QF at the same day.

I missed the matches yesterday. So many great goals! Today won't be much better. I also have a gruelling week ahead of me but I hope to see the Belgians play.
Spain and Croatia should win today.

The Catalan players complained to the press that they are mobbed on the team.

Sounds like more than the German team has their internal problems.

From Basques resenting playing in the team (but FIFA doesn't recognise the Basque team, iirc). The tension between Real Madrid vs Barcelona players in 2010-2012 and they've gotten honours despite it. But I guess the matter of Catalonian independence have stirred up the fault line again.

And Ramos making and posting pictures with right wing extremists. Not a good thing to do.

You'd think after ETA and their nonsense (to the point where the backlash amongst other things forced them to retreat) that Ramos would have some sense. But everyone in Europe seems to be wanting to pander to the Right Wingers nowadays.

Brazil are bookmaker's favorites? WHY?

due to history, I guess? jazzypom July 1 2018, 14:17:09 UTC
Germany were the bookmarker's favourites coming to the competiton. Or at least, had shortened odds.

Argentina are out, Germany are out, Spain are struggling though Brazil had a slow start. France may be Brazil's toughest opponent if both reach the semifinals.
