A rant on too expensive athletic gear jazzypom December 15 2017, 08:05:40 UTC
So, yeah. Basically, I've been doing yoga (Ashtanga for the curious). I practise every day, and attend a weekly class1As a result, I've been trying to get some leggings, and jp likes a print. But fam... these prices are taking the piss. For the yoga specific leggings (just generally deeper waistbands and the longer leg lengths for comfort. My house and yoga practice centre are cold ) people are asking for the earth. I know people are going to be all, "But jp, you don't have to buy," and that's true, I don't and I won't ( ... )

As a person who comes from the land of yoga, I can confidently tell you that you don't need any special leggings for it. My mother used to go to a class and she wore shorts, lol. We had a yoga class at uni, and I wore jeans lmao (cause I'd have class later and couldn't bother changing). You could wear regular leggings/tights/shorts and do yoga just fine. My mother prefers to wear something loose usually.

I do like athletic tights, actually! I am using a ratty ass pair at the minute (England is TOO COLD for shorts), and my adidas joggers (loose and awesome at other times but not this time) slide down with moves and gives me a builder's bum. Which is okay for my home, but no one needs to see my bum outside of it.

That being said, your answer has pretty much convinced me that people are doing THE MOST. I just like athletic grade tights with a nice pattern, because I like colour and will wear them out and about. But I guess I better just stick to black, navy and grey.

Honestly, right now, looking for a mat I can travel with is more pressing (something I can fold and toss into my backpack, because I'm taking public transport over the holidays).

Right now, I'm just hungry, but I can't eat anything until my food window opens at 12:00. Boo.

Ah, I can't help you with mats. I haven't done yoga in years lol.

Have you considered green tea? I do this in the office because I eat a really late lunch (like after 14.00) so I just end up having a cup of green tea. It's good for the cold but you burn calories.

I've gained weight and my office shirts are tight for me now. I should go to the gym but by the time I get back home from the gym (after work), it's 21.30, and I have time to just eat dinner and go to bed -_-

Also, I've been using the Kiss Me Heroine mascara from Japan and it is so nice! It's affordable and is super waterproof, unlike my Mac.

I hear you with the gaining of weight, tbh. I do IF (intermittent fasting) just to stave that beast off in the winter. I'm stupidly clinging to IF (because it works for me if I do this every day instead of every other day_ but they do say for women Crescendo Fasting is better .

Good to know. I'm trying to finish my mascaras before the dreaded three-month expiry date (I use mascara every day), and just trying to finish up all my makeup in general and I have been good in not buying much 'limited edition' offerings this year. That being said, so far, I've been enjoying the NARS manta ray palette:

Omg I'm terrible, I don't bother throwing out mascara after three months (to be fair, I can't afford to).

Two million identities were stolen in the US to make anti net neutrality posts.

I remember years ago when Virgin media would choke the shit out of my internet connection at certain times of the day and now America can experience that horror in the near future.

It's another decision by America that hurts rural poor people (a lot of them probably don't give a shit cause they drank the Kool Aid).

But supposedly the upshot is that some states might just take internet control into their own hands (the blue ones, anyway).
