Because of England and Thatcher , tbh story here .
With England, there's a lot of softly softly when it comes to anti Semitism (and Labour having troubles with that), and critiquing Israel tends to dovetail with that. America as Israel's biggest ally tends to smooth out a lot of dissent.
Oh, drama in our neck of the woods. Sighted, Farage at the German embassy, people are asking if he's applying for German citizenship (his wife is German, his children with her, half).

The anti-zionist/anti-semitism thing is difficult to navigate. Like, I have a Jewish friend who felt the displaying of Palestinian flags at the football was a direct anti-semitic attack against the players. And I find it hard to see that way, tbh, because as a football fan it's obvious to me it's part of the sectarian issues, and empathising with other victims of Imperial England's "people of this religion over here, and that one over there, and we'll draw a dotted line here, and why aren't you being more grateful?" approach to winding down colonial government.

Right! Like India and Pakistan back in 1947! The British just carved up places willy nilly without having due care for the people who lived there (like Palestine chilling before Britain came in), not to mention the English involved in Ireland, and the history between the English and the Scots!

I'm a bit nervous about the game tomorrow, what with us being notoriously shit away in Europe, but hopefully we get the job done.
