When it comes to injured players. As far I as I know, once a player is injured, they're given six weeks pay as usual and then their payments drop and they get a base pay. So you find that players always seem to try and come back as soon as they can. With Sturridge, you get the feeling from Gerrard and Klopp that it's all in his head, and that he needs to sack up. Since Sturridge is still on big wages, he probably doesn't feel the need to rush back, either.
