...dear Daily Star this is not news he's said this for like a year

buhuut he also added that he wanted Schalke to be in a strong position when he left and didn't feel right going to another club when his was hitting de shit

so if you can send Schalke some really awesome defensive and striker bbs you'll probably have a deal

also howedes as awesome as a defender as he is, is probably made of the same fine china as rene adler at this point

German source, no time for translations, tomorrow's Spiegel is going to run with how the 2006 WC was bought. Then-boss of Adidas, Robert Louis-Dreyfus, helped them set up a secret funds of 10.3 million Swiss francs, provided privately by him. Beckenbauer and Niersbach (current DFB president) involved/in the know.

Later, Dreyfus wanted the money back. FIFA helped with arranging that. Germany paid money as contribution for a planned opening ceremony that later was cancelled, FIFA passed the money on.

The money was supposedly used to buy four Asian votes, which together with a NZ delegate not voting decided the vote 12:11 in favour of Germany.

The money paid back to Louis-Dreyfus, did it come from public funds?

I'd assume it did come from DFB funds at least, yes. From how I understand it, they seem to have paid something to those Asian delegates.

Eletronic Spiegel edition should be out later today - I've got a subscription, and while I'm lagging behind several editions, this is one I'm going to read right now.

(Mind, right now this is all "alleged", but Spiegel wouldn't be running something like that without sources.)

Clearly what went wrong with England's bid is that we didn't bribe the shit out of everyone.
