They actually have done that to footballers too (although probably ones like Xavi will probably have lawyers set up better contracts for them).

That gentleman finally got out, but he had to sign documents giving up his claims towards his employers and all sorts of things. And of course, FIFA was as helpful to him as you'd expect, that is not at all, really.
