Switched to the City match after Terror's Tevez's first goal. Joe Hart was brilliant. His CL form is sparkling even if he isn't the best English GK at the moment (Fraser Forster). He just shut down Messi and Neymar and Rat-Face like it was no big deal.

And kudos to ter Stegen too. Though he ran out of his box King-style and it very nearly went all of wrong for him, he made some brilliant saves as well as Aguero's penalty. He's a diva, that boy, but I like him.

Milner was working and Spanish Satan made such a difference in the second half. He brought some pace to City's game.

I'm not gonna say much about the BvB match except that Morata better watch his back. And Pogba's injured? Well, he did injure Pischu and not even get a yellow so... *Kanye shrugs* (I am partly kidding about Pogba though).

Also, the ticket portal for the CL finals has been open for a while: HERE

That's €90 before I even think about flights and board. That would set me back €600 euros easily. Crap. Because I wouldn't be travelling alone, but I'm tempted though. Really tempted.

Their players seem older and not as hungry as they were in 2011/12 and there doesn't seem to be much growth or youth being tapped up. They do say that you should really be turning over a football team every four years (in terms of growth and renewal) and City is on the back foot with that. Even though to be fair to City, they get Barcelona and Bayern Munich every year since their CL debut. Rough.

I think it's prostitution if it's reported? Or if you get caught?

I don't get what's wrong with Dortmund either. They have bigger fish to fry re: their Bundesliga form, so probably just as well their CL adventure has ended here.

It was just a proposition so I don't know if that can be punished. Guess not, but it's not very nice. If you don't know what's wrong if you offer 10 000 pounds to a woman to have sex with you, something is wrong with your morals.

City are financially approaching Bayern and Barcelona so they should be getting closer, but they aren't. Touré is a great player but he didn't look good enough. Milner tries really hard but he can't keep up with Barca. If they want to win the CL, they need to beat these sides, can't avoid them forever.

Fair enough, but when you compare it to Real Madrid and their draws (relatively easy) compared to the big guns that City get from the jump, it's a bit full on. But I do wonder if Man City need to change their strategy though. I've read that Pellegrini is under pressure re: five trophies, five years (he's already gotten three), they'd dropped out of the domestic cups to (according to them) focus on the CL. City seems to want to buy players fully formed, because they send their younger players on loan. It's going to be interesting. Especially with their Directors of Football coming from the Barcelona culture where their players (more or less) are homegrown.

I just love that the English press are forced to confront how inferior their clubs are compared to the rest of Europe. Like they can make as much noise as they want about having "the best league" or trying to excuse their European form by claiming they're too tired from the league, doesn't change that all of their clubs crashed out in the R16.

Secondly I'm so proud of Juve!! I watched the match and they really did so well in shutting BVB down, I think Gigi didn't even have to make a save, just punch a few corners. I wish Pogba could've shown me of what he could do, but at the same time Tevez gifting Morata that goal is as loud a "I like playing with you" as I've ever seen and that makes me squishy inside.

I do think there's a point to be had in terms of a lot of domestic matches in the PL, and the fact that the FA doesn't seem to care about European fixtures (Mourinho and Pochettino and LvG have complained about it). Up to 2012, English teams did relatively decently in Europe, so it's not as if there's no history of the teams doing well abroad (Manchester and Liverpool made a mythology on that in the mid naughties). It's so strange that the PL teams used to be good defensively but I do think the way how the play style has changed (everyone wants fast, attacking football, but not realising that positional discipline works as well) and they don't seem to be able to switch on defensively when it comes to European matches which is weird because all the managers in the top four of the CL (excluding Rodgers) have had experience in Europe ( ... )

I see what you're saying but it would just be so foolish to close themselves off from Europe because that's where the competition is (especially if you wanna brag about being best-anything). I understand their generally dislike for Europa league but they've gotta make a good showing for the CL, surely.

It's so weird. I guess if American sports can do it - "NBA- the best in the world" - the FA thinks that the PL can? To be honest with you, I do think the hybrid/mistranslation of what Spanish football is (PL teams think that it's just fast playing - not realising that possession is 90% of the game) - has really infected the league. In Europe, you get the ball, you keep the ball, go deep and defend. Rafa did that with Liverpool, Sir Alex Ferguson did it with Manchester United- so it's not as if the English clubs have no history. Football is played with possession of the ball, and when you watch English teams, they give it away so freely, and okay, it works in the PL, but it doesn't work on the continent. Most of the managers in the PL seem to be European, so I don't get how they come to England and just - forget these things. Same thing with the players. I do think the PL and FA need to sit down and have a think ( ... )

I don't know what Droopy did either because I gave up and switched to the Barca match after Terror's first goal but I've placed a curse on Morata >:(
