congrats for another landmark, San Iker! :)

also, i appreciate you including a photo of lucas, OP. ;) i can see why he starts over illarra, he's great from what i've seen. and he is like a modric-lite which is what we need tbh. modric is almost back so i'm glad he can get play time while it lasts.

That picture of Mou looks like he's contemplating the fastest most painful way to end a life lol. Also has anyone seen the puma promo with Buffon and Reus because they're cheesy but so cute. XD

Re: Ancelotti, since he's been mentioned above. There's recently been a few eyebrows raised (see what i did there ;D) about him apparently defending the Italian coach who said there were too many black players in Italian youth academies. Not sure if it's relevant or not his quip was a quote by Mussolini.

Also, re: Reus. That obviously implies he's not leaving this year xD

Am I going to have to side eye Ancelotti too? jazzypom February 23 2015, 13:09:42 UTC
Shhiiidddd.

Yeah, I don't think Reus will go until 2016/17 but that's fine, it gives the club a chance to scrap back, to get new talent in, etc. It also gives him breathing space to get back to form, etc. But I'm assuming since Puma has his contract, it would suit him to go to another club with Puma ties? Idek.

Ancelloti was the arsehole who said that? Why did I think that it was Flo Pezzy? Because I don't think Real Madrid has a female soccer team (unlike say Barcelona) and when asked to, Flo Pezzy was like, "Nope." Ah, Ancelotti- huh.

Arseholes, the whole lot of them.

There was a set to with some rough tumbling. Vertonghen not pleased

It was exactly what happened between Matic and Ashley Barnes. Noble took out someone (Soldado, I think) and Vertonghen got really pissed and pushed him down. Both should have seen red, IMO.

But oh god, the refereeing this week was atrocious. The Matic challenge, yesterday's Saints-Liverpool match, Spurs-Hammers, that challenge on Bale, Joey Barton getting sent off (though in his case, it's always deserved) ... even Sahin was lucky not to be sent off against Stuttgart. And people are accusing Welbeck of diving to get the penalty against Palace. I missed that part, so I don't know.

That is an adorable picture of Varane. He looks like a happy little boy :D

Nah, Welbeck didn't dive for the penalty. I think it was the right call -- there was contact just outside the box that continued into the box. The margin of error was minuscule. Further, none of the CP players protested or made an issue of it. Mark Clattenburg (aka the biggest Ed Sheeran fan the FA has ever employed) refereed the game, and he is probably the best professional referee in the PL at the moment (which, admittedly, isn't that hard of an achievement given the state of refereeing).

It's time to bring video technology to the PL. The fear that technology will affect the fluidity of the game and make the sport less enjoyable is not that strong of an argument against it anymore. Isn't it sillier to have to watch referees make bad decisions week after week, and have to hear fans/ managers/pundits repeatedly whine over the state of refereeing?

Yup. And trolls like Mou won't have an outlet to rant either.

Ancelotti's also completely destroyed Bayern (as did Matteo) and won the CL with them....

methinks were he less classy there would be some hella shade thrown the Special One's way for just how quickly Ancelotti's thrown him out of the water

but why? jazzypom February 23 2015, 13:43:58 UTC
Why throw shade, if they're not even in the same league? Mourinho got Real Madrid back to winning ways, and Ancelotti has extended it. I don't see the reason for shade as both are accomplished coaches.

Mostly just for gits and shiggles, and because Mou's been rather caustic as of late. But the EPL has been relatively quiet this year outside of that, or so it feels to me.

Well, we're too busy screaming over referees decisions, and it seems that racist and antisemetic chants might be trying to get a foothold into the stands at the game (just when we thought that it was stamped out, Chelsea AND West Ham are stepping up. Just no, lads. No). We have enough to be going with, I think! Not to mention ticket pricing and such.

Ancelotti has to win Undecima and La Liga as well as gird his loins for whomever Flo Peezy might bring in this summer. I think Ancelotti has enough on his plate!
