well technically, ronaldo isn't his last name either. they're both his first name. his last name is aveiro. so it would be BBA. lol

maybe. though i suppose you could still argue that using the C is justifiable because he's not the only famous footballer called "ronaldo". lol

Lmao no worries Jazzy! I happened to be one of the main culprits talking shit about David getting that award. It's a joke, really. He didn't deserve it. Him, Iniesta and Silva tbh. And I wouldn't give PSG so much credit, they've been playing like shit for a while now and have been struggling to get anything better than a draw. Our most recent blowout ended 4-2 after we were up 0-2 :D

Still not happy with the way we're playing, but Pastore and David were on fire.

I missed Cavani's celebration, but that looks like he's just shaking his fist? Did he actually do the gun salute this time? If so that's shit. Especially since PSG were flying a banner that said "ICI C'EST CHARLIE"...

Pirlo <3 :)

According to the Guardian: "Martin and his father, Hans Erik Ødegaard, will move to Madrid straight away and they have a villa there waiting for them. Hans Erik has been offered a job at Real and the 16-year-old is set to play games for the B team until the summer - unless he shows that he is so good that he can be involved in the first team squad on match days."

Am I the only one who isn't convinced that this is a great idea? The step from Strømsgodset, a team in the Norwegian league to Real seems awfully big. When Jese, Illara and Khedira have to struggle for playing time, it's hard to see a way into the Real team.

No, he's going to Real Madrid? jazzypom January 19 2015, 14:41:48 UTC
Good luck on getting minutes, kid. I guess he might leave in the next year or so? Southampton would have been a better look for him, real talk.

He should have signed for a smaller team. If he is successful with a small team, a big team will buy him. Now the chance that he becomes a loanee who has to travel all around Europe quite real.

Pretty much. I cite Southampton as ideal for him because they have young academy talent and it seems a bit more level (in terms of breaking into the first team) than anywhere else at this time. In addition, he'd have the exposure of a competitive league. As it is, he's going to be playing in the B team for the foreseeable future. Oh, well, his dad got a job, that's all right then.

Tbf I can see where Van Gaal was coming from using 5-3-2, it's to cover our numerous defensive frailties. As evidenced by the fact that certain QPR players started looking like Messi when we switched to 4-4-2. But then the problem with five at the back is that we can't rely on our defensive players to build attacks/service midfield/strikers because, well, they're rubbish. We're somewhat screwed both ways atm.

Essentially, the problem is the same one we've had for a year and a half: defenders not stepping up.

That said, I attribute our improved attacking performance more to Fellaini going on and Evans going off than a formation change. You know your defense is fucked when you look better with only two defenders on the pitch lol.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, good defenders are as rare as hens teeth right now, tbh.
