Ahhh, Sanchez! I do respect anyone who can play even a little on a musical instrument. I am tone deaf. Why is Poldi writing in Portuguese though, I thought Sanchez was from Chile?

Yeah re: Cholo and Costa, they had harsh features before they became weather beaten that's what you get from playing in the baking sun and seemingly have an aversion to sunblock.

It will be interesting to see if Munich want to spread that TV money. They are like Real Madrid in a way saying that they deserve most of the TV rights but it takes teams to have a league, not just one team.

Yeah, Blackpool. SMH. I wish the FA would look into this. They can't be so busy with their personnel issues (changing of the guard) that Blackpool isn't on their radar. SMH.

Poldi is having someone translate all his tweets to Portuguese these days, as he gets oodles of replies by people telling him in Portuguese that he should come back to Brazil. I think he's been adopted.

Poldi started tweeting in Portuguese during the World Cup and hasn't stopped even though it ended, lol. He's adorable.

That last photo of Simeone ... GQMF. <3

SMH at Dunga. Can he stop stirring shit among the players? We get it, you think Thiago Silva is weak, now stop talking about it. Neymar might be able to deal with pressure, but he needs to learn how to keep his head cool and not go into refs' faces.

Speaking of refs, yesterday I read some news about a player in Portuguese league who celebrated a goal with first middle finger to the opposite team's fans and then pulling his pants down and showing them his ass ... like, wtf? He got red carded, of course.

Yes, there is a video of Alexis playing the piano!! Poldi posted it (and he still translates to Portuguese, lol):

Was great to be serenaded by my bro Alexis!
Obrigado pela serenata do meu irmão Alexis!

Is it just me or are the Chelsea players a bit awkward when it comes to PR?
Lol, especially Oscar seems so shy. Poor bb ( ... )

Unlike Arsenal (where I think only Sanchez is their high flyer who doesn't speak much English), a lot of Chelsea players- Willian, Oscar, Costa don't seem to speak very good English, and are probably shy about how they sound.

I'm trying to link this video of Alberto Moreno singing "Merry Christmas". Bless him, his English isn't that good, but I can't help but admire his spirit in giving it a go (although he sounds like Sergio Ramos though- Merry Kisoma- indeed).

Yeah, Oscar is still self-conscious about his English. I remember when he came to Chelsea there was a video from BTS with him and David Luiz and he refused to say one word, lol, so at least he's improving. He seems a shy person in general, though - some players are natural when it comes to PR, while other need to make an effort. Costa doesn't speak any English I think, though! He calls Terry ''El Capitano'', lmao ...

Haha I'm going to have to look for that video. The players are kinda cute wih their accents. :)

Hmm, that WSJ article seems to be ignoring that pretty much all of the NFL kickers and punters most likely have a soccer/football background and acting like the influence is Brand New Information. But whatever, the WSJ is just looking for clicks. Also, I bet if you polled the players, probably a good percentage played as kids, b/c the options for kids is usually soccer and baseball. Pee wee (American) football isn't as popular/wide-spread as the other options and is generally not played by most until high school.

Sky currently pay 628 million euros ($768m) to televise Bundesliga games in Germany and the cash is divided up on a percentage basis with the most going to the league winner.

Yikes, that sorta sounds like how La Liga divvies up their television money. I bet if it was more even across the board, it would be more interesting and competitive.

It's a lot more fair in Germany actually. Of course, Bayern Munich got the most since they won last season but the amount was only slightly higher than what BvB, the #2 team got. The BuLi system is not as equal as the PL's and Championship's but then again, their ticket prices are much less than what people pay in England (I checked Bayern's ticket list for home games and the cheapest seats were going at about 10 EUR).

It's just that it seems like Bayern is the only team that is buying high-cost players. Maybe they sell way more jerseys or have more sponsor money coming in, but the other clubs aren't really getting players coming in like Xabi, for example.

Yup, they're definitely the richest and most glamorous club in Germany. Though Neverkusen (which is owned by Bayer) and Schalke have money as well. And Schalke got Raul and Huntelaar from Real Madrid (blackjedii and raubsaurier, help me out here).

I think with BvB, there's also Kloppo not wanting to sign 'star' players. I mean, Immobile is the most high-profile purchase we've had in years and he's still up-and-coming.

Man, Drogba. I am not a fan of Chelsea, but I will always have time for Drogba, and respect how he slotted in at Chelsea. No airs, just got stuck in.
