Lets all be honest - Peasant King probably wouldn't have made the list had he not scored the WC goal!

Also Guardian learn to love yourself, of all the photos you could pick of Mats, you pick THAT ONE?! FML.

So after reading your comment, I did a little search on Mats pictures and I found these 2 gems, not a lot of Mats on it. But they are great

That first picture...the whole team has heart eyes for him. Miro wants to jump him.

OMG, I'm dying at the second picture. I miss boyband!Beni.

See I read that as "boyfriend!Benni" and it was ironic cause I was just looking into his oh-so-adorable love affair with Mertesacker

is anyone else irritated that this list is so european football heavy? I think they had one club from SA like in the latter 50. Like at 80 or something ugh.

Lahm better be in the fucking top 5 or I'm going to cut a Guardian bitch.

Cesc has such a dad face in that picture... (Also, really? Over Boateng? ugh. He barely stopped flopping the latter half of the year at Chelsea)

Yup. Rogerio Ceni is the only player on the list who's not from a European club. Because according to everyone, Europe = world class.

No player of the Belgian league would ever made that list so that's not entirely true.
An article in the Guardian today about the ISL, an interesting read for me. I was wondering if you'd agree with the writer?

Yeah, I meant the top leagues :P

As for the article, thanks for linking it. Of course, there's still a long way to go when it comes to catching up with the PL, BuLi, etc but I do agree with the writer for the most part. I didn't get to go for the matches unfortunately but a few of my friends did and they said that the stadiums were completely full and the atmosphere was really great. And everyone I know followed the teams and stuff.

But it's the first season and everyone was still riding high in the aftermath of the World Cup so the ISL was introduced at the right time. We'll see how things are next year because events like these (save for the cricket league) don't retain their popularity in India the second time around.

E: I forgot to add this - It helps that there are a literally billion people here and we are generally a noisy, celebratory people XD

How is Diego Costa before Angel Di Maria????

What kind of list is that?

Basti? No, I think not. He is the kind of guy.

I don't think most footballers take these kinds of lists seriously. Maybe the one made by Pele since he's held in high regard, but this list? pffffft.

Basti's won basically everything but Euro, and now is captain of Germany NT. He could be doing worse than ranked behind Goetze on a list he probably won't even see.
