Yup, it's not as if one of them is holding the record for the longest chain of games without defeat in his league, while playing in a position that is sort of crucial for preventing opponents from scoring goals, or anything of that sort.

I mean I don't like either of them, but they're the same club and RvP's national team was 3rd at the WC and he didn't get himself randomly banned for a bunch of games for obviously unsportsmanly behaviour I'm just saying.

Both of them don't deserve a spot on the list, imo. After the work of art that is SPA-NED, RVP was downright awful in the WC. He was hilarious in that Mexico match, always standing in the shade and against Costa-Rica, he snatched the title of King of Offsides from Benz. NED advanced because of Floppen, Blind and Sneijder.
