Nice of Crispy to donate a shirt to Poldi's charity.

Some Bayern Munich dinner, idek

It was their annual Christmas party!

I watched that MLS match earlier today, Landycakes was decent but not great. There was this one kid, this Pogba hair-twin, he was promising. And Jermaine Jones was good but he should just go back to Schalke but without Huntelaar and Fetus Draxler, his finishing isn't great.

That article about Donovan is interesting but it seems like he's still very bitter about the WC exclusion. I get that it was supposed to be his last WC but he took a sabbatical for god's sake during the WC qualifying, when everybody else was working hard to get called up. You've seen guys like Spanish Satan get excluded from their NTs for much less.

the UEFA Champions League is this week, but I'll do the news and posts for that going through until Thursday (match news, reviews, et al) yes?

I love these posts OP, but you should do them only if you want to. I know it's not easy to wake up early and get pictures and a roundup of various

It's not a problem, but I do know that I tend to overlook the smaller teams. I can read English and Spanish, so that's not bad. Any languages other than those and I'm at sea! So sorry to the Russsian, German, etc speaking peeps for not getting their teams.

Meh at Donovan, but I know that he means something to the MLS community, so.

Oh, I forgot to rant about the referees. Just pathetic this week, all around the world. Dodgy penalties, that chokehold, English Sergio getting sent off..just pathetic.

The referee at the Granda vs Valencia match last night was terrible! The wrong man (Valencia) got sent off - a red to boot. He'd only just come on five minutes in! Gahhhh.

aww, how nice of crispy to donate the jersey.

that is an adorable pic of messi and neymar. i like their friendship. :)

lol yeah the raccoon eye make-up. sara is especially notorious in that practice too. it doesn't suit her at all because her eyes just look smaller than they actually are.

ugh bayern... i don't think they're going to throw away a HOME game just because they're bitter about the man city loss, right? at least i'd like to think they're not THAT petty...

I'm pretty sure that they will not do that. But it's entirely possible that they won't win because Pep might try another new system or younger players so that might not really work.
Plus CSKA will be up for it massively and as professional as the Bayern players are, they will be unable to muster the same energy and motivation as they would if they were still trying to qualify.

It's a bit strange that Pellegrini says that he is confident that 'Bayern will do the job'. City lost the match against CSKA at home and failed to beat them away so it's hardly an amateur club.

The jersey is currently at €850.

Well Pellegrini got only 1 from a possible 6 points from the tie against CSKA. Bit strange to expect Bayern to just beat them.
Plenty of interesting CL games this week. I'm looking forward to it. Roma hasn't been in great shape either so it's difficult to say who is the favourite in this match.

Sigh, stupid 'fans' fighting is just ridiculous. I think that it might be an idea for Arsenal to try someone new, to freshen up after so many years of Wenger.
Because they currently aren't winning a thing and play isn't that great either. But well that's for Arsenal to decide.

I've always found Donovan a strange case. He's been extremely successfull for the US NT and the MLS. But he never really made it in Europe. If he wasn't American, I don't think that he would have gotten near Bayern. I read the excerpt from Howard's book and you'd think that Donovan is a true Everton legend but he has played only 22 matches for the club.

I'm not a fan of Donovan at all tbh jazzypom December 8 2014, 15:09:24 UTC
He should have stayed stateside with his sister in the end. He was one of those Americans who didn't do well abroad, never put forth the effort like Clint Dempsey did, and then for him to traipse off for four months during the key matches of the USMNT then to come back and throw a strop - when he knew Klinsmann was just in charge and looking for players who'd throw everything at the kitchen sink in order to wear the jersey-- SMH.

Exactly. I think he thought that he would be in the squad simply because of his status but that's not the way Klinsmann works. And I'm surprised that he was surprised at that.

It was a good World Cup for the US so Klinsmann was right or at least not wrong about not selecting him.

It wasn't just him, you saw how Don Garber, Lalas and the American media had behaved. Like Klinsi had murdered him or something.

Every wag I've seen - no matter what country, nationality, etc, I just want to come with balm and hot muslin and tell them to wipe their faces off and start again. Just too too too much. Iker Casillas' bird is one of the worst when it comes to makeup.
