It seems that in the ever changing goal posts of what makes the Best! League! In! The! World! - you need to have teams from your league in the last four places (or the final would be ace, too). LBR, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City are on life support (I have such a sinking feeling every time Liverpool plays nowadays- that's a terrible feeling). So yeah, Chelsea, fly that flag.

I think with de Matteo- he had to not work for a while so that he could get the payout from Chelsea (it was a sweet deal- he couldn't work for x time until his contract ran out) but from what I've seen of his stuff with Schalke I'm not impressed.

Lol, I'm sorry, OP. I keep forgetting about the time difference (and yet, I'm always bitching about having to stay up till 3.30 AM to watch matches). No worries, you must be exhausted. Honestly, I wasn't sure if you knew the spellings/pronunciation because I know a lot of people who are unable to say the name, Schweinsteiger.

LOL, no worries. I tend to be relatively good in getting around to correcting player's names once the post is set. But between basic coding and making sure that my posts don't get borked, Ledanowski (sp) and Schweinsteiger(sp) names are pretty much the least of the apostles. I do get around to cut and pasting once I know the post is relatively solid, but NGL, there's a reason why the names Alonso, Reus, and Neuer come easily to me, and why half the time, I do try and get player's pictures with names that I can easily spell.

I can barely spell Jack Wilshere (for the longest time I had him as Wiltshire) so the long European names (especially the Eastern European ones) are my kryptonite.

I tell myself that this is my purgatory because I'm not religious, so this is fate's way of getting back at me so I can still know metaphysical joys and pain. Last night, I asked to leave Spanish class half and hour early so I could come home and watch Liverpool - only to see Manchester City vs Bayern Munich. I sat down and cheered for Manchester City as if I'd be wearing that tacky sky blue kit myself. Yes, Bayern Munich was down to ten men, and probably Guardiola felt aroused because it might have been a situation that he'd never been in before. Guardiola as a tactician, seems to live for moments like these. I'll hand this to Bayern Munich- they did what Real Madrid couldn't do- as soon they got Xabi Alonso, my once intense affection for him has cooled to the point of frostbite.

Aguera is a special player, because he exploited the three spaces that Bayern Munich left in their otherwise smooth, Sherman tank of a defence.

It's always easier to divide 3 billion than a few 100 million and chelsea are just as much ahead of the rest than bayern. 
You should see how exciting the belgian league is. There is no competition in europe where the leader has so few wins. Best league is the world is kinda difficult to objectify.

City desperately needs young players. Their squad is one of the oldest and yesterday they could barely beat a 10-men team. They are not going ti win the CL nor beat chelsea that way.
I don't get why pellegrini kept playing toure when he was clearly mentally unfit. I suppose that he had no confidence in his other players.

Because Anderlecht got me interested in the Belgian league, NGL. Their players are quality. Any good teams I should have a follow of, or should I just let the team choose me (heartache that way, but oh well, it's the best way).

You're not wrong. Apart from say, Aguero everyone looked out of it. Manchester City is supposed to have an exciting youth academy that's flying under the radar. If they are going to have a chance going forward, especially since unlike Spain and Germany we don't have December off in the PL, they really need to try and yoke the younger players in and start rotating them like whoa so that the Manchester City players aren't totally jaded by January.

How on earth does that eternal flop PK keep making these lists?! There's too much of Real/Barca representation here. Skrtel, Beni, Miranda should have been nominated. David Luiz and Marcelo's WC performances alone should have cancelled them out. Same goes for the Spanish defenders though Ramos gets a pass for that CL header. And no Serie A representation? WTF.

At least, people had the sense to nominate Ivanovic (ugh) over JT who was useless last season.

It's fairly early in the US right now, so the mods @ ONTD may not have gotten to it yet. You might hear something in a few hours, perhaps. I've noticed no one has really put up many new posts, which is about par for the later overnight hours.

But talking about notifs, I haven't gotten user name mentions (like when someone officially tags me in a post/comment) in AGES. I also had problems with getting notifs if someone had friended me, but that was earlier in the year and it seems to have been fixed. Of course, I haven't had anyone add me recently (that I know of), so maybe it is broken again. ;-P

Is there political unrest in Russia...that seems to correspond with some things. When hackers get DDOS happy.
