In 2014, the English FA tried to kill everyone by scheduling the Merseyside Derby and North London Derby on the same day. Thankfully, they at least scheduled them in different time slots or else there would probably be an actual meltdown.

Just kidding. Poor fellow made 16 saves in a single match and then had to return to the most physically challenging league in football.

TÜV (German organisation responsible for regular checkup of cars for road safety, plus any number of other things) has declared that freekick spray isn't allowed to be used. Apparently, after testing for nine days, they found that the brand the league had wanted to use
- is doing something to hormones
- has too many greenhouse gases for the way it's declared
- doesn't give the content volume in the correct way
- isn't marked as flammable
DFB has been looking for an alternative because the foam in question was very expensive anyway.
Using the current spray as planned would, according to TÜV, be a misdemeanour and incur a fine.
Let me state once and for all that news like this is why I love this country. The mix of being concerned for everything from health to climate even in things like this with the utter absurdity of performing day-long tests on a bottle of spray that is probably being used five times per match is very comforting.

He does have a nice smile - when he's calmly talking to people in interviews and so on, there's always something lurking there, as if he's secretly amused at everything going on around him. He seems extremely grounded.

I don't think most footballers are too much concerned with how they look, especially when they're playing. Per's very QT in interviews
