Wenger telephoned an agency at 7 o'clock in the morning to ask them to come in to represent Danny Welbeck as the club wanted to be sure the player's interests would be properly represented (he's represented by his brother, usually).
Flew off to Rome...checked his phone several times...deal done!
I love the fact that Fergie was outraged one of his favourite boys is on his way to Arsenal :)
It's hilarious how everyone at United bar Thumbsy is outraged about Danny coming to us. Phil Neville called it one of the best signings in this transfer window.
BTW, he was gelling well with the others during training!
I think one of the reasons the Danny Welbeck story blew up so much was because it ultimately questions the soul and identity of Man Utd and as a whole, the question of identity that football as a whole has been wrestling with as well
