Ah well. That's an explanation they give every time. The English players never look happy to be in a tournament. They play for England but they do it because they have to. Not because they want to play on the biggest stage in the world. At least that's what I see when I watch England.

Maybe it's because they make the big money when they are way to young. Or maybe it's because every time a 17-year-old English player shows a little bit of skill, Chelsea or Man City buy him and he rots away on the bench.
