Also I would point out that even on 'balanced' statistics that shit ain't balanced. I could tell you that Philipp Lahm is an all-around more balanced and more rounded player than Messi or Ronaldo but since Lahm's a fullback and there's no way to gauge a fullback versus a forward, the contention would be pointless. Klose, before his injury, had a better goal-to-strike ratio than both Ronaldo and Messi in December but that means nothing given that he had fewer strikes and not nearly the players behind him than Barca or Madrid have

Widenfeller and Neuer were both gods in the CL final but again - it's not like Neuer is doing assists all the time.

In short, individual "best player" awards are stupid.
