I keep telling myself "THEY HAVE MORE INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS THAT PLAYED IN THE EUROS AND/OR ARE STILL HUNGOVER" to make myself feel better and Valencia do usually start the season well. And we can get it over with?? /being positive
Well if we beat one or both out of Madrid and Barcelona, we could actually be looking into a great campaign, since that sounds like a perfect confidence booster. (Though confidence is of little use as soon as we have the inevitable injuries coming in and our paper thin squad can't ever compensate, ugh.)
I can't decide if this is a good thing or not. On the one hand, it's early enough in the season that everyone is super hyped up for games and the hype for this will be blown so out of proportion and the kids will suffer........but on the other hand, second game of the season and it's out of the way and the kids can concentrate on the rest of their games without worrying about the hype building up (at least until the second game...)
Hmm, I think you're right, less hype, less pressure is best. I was thinking in terms of 'neither team is gonna be anywhere near ready then' because of all the changes and absences. We do have quite a few friendlies coming up though. Oh well, it's gonna be nice to finally see you guys play after all I've heard.

Week 3: Barcelona v Valencia
NOPE. ...And then it repeats in January.
(Mainly using this to say hi, I'm a lurker, but if you're a Valencia fan we should be friends since I only know about 3 other Valencia fans!)
