Hmm, don't have much to add except that I'm pretty sure Messi ended up with 14 assists in the league (according to ligabbva's website). Silly articles should at least get their facts right.

Aside from what other people commented, this is a bit silly because Madrid had all their great strikers playing most of the time, while Messi was our only striker that played the whole season. Everyone else got injured for long periods, or was promoted from the B team halfway through the season. If you take a look at other seasons, our other strikers have always contributed a lot more than they did this past season.

I heard some Bale rumors also but he'll probs be some serious cash. And I'm not very sure you won't be able to keep up with Madrid since we might be selling both Kaka and Higuain. I mean it's all transfer season speculation but some of these turn out true.

Fascinating that Messi held Barca's front up that much this season. I didn't even realize that. I still dislike him (and loathe Barca) to the fullest extent, but it's pretty impressive.

I'm one of the people who used to get annoyed with the endless Ronaldo/Messi debate but since I realised that "what you resist persists" I just sit back curiously observing this phenomenon. Very different players, undoubtedly both of immense quality, so I'm pretty sure one day we'll be telling our kids the stories and we'll be extremely grateful to have been alive to witness it.

Kudos to Messi. I hadn't realised he had so much work this season. And of course, bless Cristiano, having him on my team is awesome.
