He doesn't do that to be the next president. He hasn't got a chance and it's not what he wants. He told he is doing this to show the real problems of a lot of people especially to have a decent housing. Because flats or houses are so expensive that even the people who have a job can't afford to pay a rent and because there aren't enough housing for all. Cantona use to protest against the inequalities and the "housing" is a subject he talks a lot about.

It's nice that he uses his status to try and change things in society. I didn't know renting prices were so problematic in France.

It's especially in the cities but the problem exist everywhere. I live in a "rural area" with no big town and part of my work is to help poor people to improve their house (some of them don't have any heating, any bathroom or hot water,a dangerous electrical system...) It's sometimes difficult to beleive in 2012 but infortunately it's true . The problem is also that there aren't enough projects of building flats ou houses. So he does that to makes the real politicians find ideas, solutions to resolve the problem, to build more housing and to help poor people to have a decent and secure house.
