Por hoy pero no para siempre, Inglaterra no necesita entrenar.

To pretty much everyone's shock, England managed to beat Spain at Wembley today :oooo It was an decent game I thought, Spain had all the possession and the tika-taka, but England had a lot going for them too, Phil Jones did very well on his debut, the defence was generally well marshalled and Scott Parker gave one of those quintessential no guts no ( Read more... )

Good play from England. Parker did very well.

Disappointed in Spain though. Seems the same problem of lacking sharpness in the final third. But they looked better after Del Bosque finally gave up playing two DMs. Anyway it's just a friendly but I can totally see the English media getting over themselves with words like 'this means we are the world champions now' lol

JT was so qt on the bench tonight. I don't know why Cesc, Torres, and Serrrrgio are all rocking the same goofy hair. not nearly enough Xavi btw.

Haha dawww! Yeah, I must admit I did notice a discernible lack of Xavi in the game, otherwise my lame puns would have been coming in thick and fast! XD

I am bewildered (as I wasn't expecting this result) but very very pleased.

This seems to be the trick to getting England to win. Depress expectations so much that all they hope for is to lose with a not too embarrassing goal difference.
