Getting The Boot: NBA Loses Its Spot As Third-Best-Attended U.S. Pro Sports League

Maybe LeBron James can play goalie?

While the National Basketball Association players and owners continue to bicker and bellyache about divvying up the cash pie, other sports leagues pass them by.

Major League Soccer doesn't get the buzz on sports radio or the blogs, ( Read more... )

neymar to mls? yay or nay? sumrndmgrl November 7 2011, 15:59:32 UTC
i blame seattle (and my old graphic design teacher) for my love of neon, electric, burn your retinas green lol

also, the nba and nfl had major "lock outs" so that may affect the stats in terms of people watching mls

+10 to seattle and portland fans because they are the craziest! haha but in good ways

not really. i think MLS just wants another star name and to develop more talent but i doubt the kid would go to MLS if he has other leagues giving him offers.

now if only the mls could get more local sports news coverage because here in new york they get absolutely nothing. which is a shame, because i think more people would go to games if they actually knew there was a team here

its just kind of funny to watch them run down all the news on all the new york sports teams and nothing about the red bulls even when they have a playoff game thats kind of a big deal? but i guess they just dont want to accept the mls for some reason

I hear you my family was all talking about NY teams that they all support and didn't talk about MLS at all. A lot of people in NY don't follow soccer as it seems.

I think Americans are really attached to playoffs for some reason! There has been so much talk about the college football system and how it should be playoffs, etc. and I don't really know why it's such a big deal! I think the points/table system is no-nonsense, straight forward, etc. and that's the way it should be. The way that teams are ranked (especially in college football) is SO CONFUSING and there is so much room for error, it is ridiculous.

End rant. Sadly I think that a playoff system is the easiest way to keep Americans interested.
