clubs look up to promotion. although i don't know how much variety there has been in the top teams in the last 20 years so maybe they fill like there's no reason to relegate if the top group stays relatively the same anyway.

i guess an upside to no pro/rel would be maybe clubs would get more equal shares of funding and distribution/tv rights. but idk how that stuff works really.

far as I know they do get pretty equal shares of distribution and tv rights in England. There was a discussion not too long ago when PL owners expressed a wish there would be individual tv rights like in La Liga but there was a huge opposition to it.
