stupid question here but why are copa america and gold cup squads different? Are they gonna be played at the same time?

They're pretty close to each other. Gold Cup is June 5th-June 25th and its in the US. Copa America is from July 4th-July 23rd and in Argentina.

CONCACAF made the rule, that since the Gold Cup is going to be played the same summer, that Mexico is only allowed to take a U-23 team, Mexico then made it an U-22 team w/ 5 older players allowed
