after the suarez rumors got confirmed and all i deffo thought so, it seemed likely. he's been linked with hoffenheim before but i didn't think it'd go through to be honest, there were maybe two stories and then nothing. ajax seemed more likely

Me too! I really thought for certain he'd go to Ajax on loan or something, since Babel himself has been reported as showing an interest in doing that. I'm gonna miss him a whole lot

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Ajax are struggling a bit financially, maybe they'd rather have the money than player + cash?
