Here's my little adventure from Spain's match against Scotland last night. Be warned, it's a lot of excited rambling. And yes, Sergio fangirling. I'm only human!
Yeah pretty much. I honestly don't know why. There were I think 2 times that he went down and they were saying he was diving, but they booed him before that too. Glad you said that actually because I thought maybe I was imagining it as I'm more sensitive about Sergio than other players.
yeah i heard them booing like ten minutes into the match before he ever hit the ground, which is odd because of all the spain players to dislike he seems like a strange choice but what do i know.
For large portions of the match Scotland was booing Sergio. I say it’s because he is clearly so awesome, but a man behind me disagreed. He felt that Sergio was “a diving git.” I very seriously considered turning around and telling him that Sergio is tough as fuck and to shut it, but I figured that would be absolute stupidity and I settled for giving him my best Nando-inspired bitchface. Surely Nando would bitchface the hell out of someone who dared malign Sergio so I felt it was my duty in his absence. I’m not actually sure if he noticed. Later I did get into a “discussion” with a guy in my row who agreed with the “diving git” accusation and did not like my theory that Sergio was being targeted by people who clearly knew he’d just suffered an ankle injury. First off. I LOVE YOU FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE! Thank you SO MUCH! :D

You're welcome :-) I had to share with you lovelies after spending my entire night last night with supporters of the opposition!
They definitely were trying to take him out. He's a real threat and they knew he had a weak spot they could easily go for. Glad it wasn't just me seeing things.
It was a great time, and a great atmosphere. Definitely a once in a lifetime feeling, even though sitting with Spain supporters would have been amazing I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
