To the straight people reading us: remember high school? Remember your favorite songs and movies, TV shows and music videos from that period? Imagine if all of that media bombardment telling you what to like, what to wear, and how to be attractive, popular, and cool, imagine that all of that aimed for and addressed everyone else but you? To say that Glee, and this episode, has problems is the understatement of the year, but the character of Kurt Hummel has meant a lot to me from a queer perspective even though his circumstances are very different from what mine were/are.

I had some dislikes with this episode, and it's mostly with Karofsky "kiss."

I respect many authors in the Glee fanfic community. However, that does not excuse them from acting as though this was not an act of sexual assault. Which it is, and I'm disappointed by the reaction of the fan community. Most people are going, OMG IT'S TOTALLY CANON.

No. It's not. It's a closeted gay student who forced himself on another gay student. Just because it's between two guys doesn't mean it's not sexual assault. Kurt made it very clear he did not want it.

I agree. And frankly I am very done with closeted homophobe storylines.

No one in the fandom expected Karofsky to be closeted. Some people are just that evil. Just what exactly did this add to the overall storyline? I mean, if I was Kurt, I'd be afraid to be alone with that guy again. But this being Glee...I don't see that continuity happening.

It's become a bit of a cop out. I realize that it's not an uncommon situation in real life, but, on television, it functions to absolve the series from actually having to deal with homophobia as a societal issue by framing it as a personal problem.

That entire episode just horrified me. Not that Glee is a bastion of enlightened messages, but this week was just really awful.

I hated that episode for so many different reasons. I also hate how my friends so not seem to get that what happened was assault.

Can we talk about the bizzare nature of canon!Britney/Santana now?

You mean the random Artie/Britney and Puck/Santana? :(

Spoilers for upcoming episodes;

I actually have high hopes for this storyline(though you never know with Glee). RM has said Kurts bullying actually increases after this episode until he transfers to Dalton which makes me belive that Karofzky wont be redeemed all that easily.

As for Brittany and Santana I'm just hoping there is some sort of episode about the two of them soon because I'm so confused about their relationship.
