Court ruling or no, gay troops know not to tell

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - When word came down of a judge's ruling that gays could serve openly in the military, an Air Force officer received joyous congratulations from a comrade. Ooops first comment, sorry. Should have been about the article.

It's terrible that that policy will continue to have a lasting effect on military culture even after it's dismantled. I wouldn't be surprised if DADT contributed to homophobia far more than it reflected the homophobia that already existed.
