2. Apparently each of the tables was looking for a specific kind of singer. In other words, there was a rock table, a country table, an R&B table, a bad singers table, etc. I'm guessing this is how they regulate the number of people who get through to round 2. If you're a good country singer and end up at the R&B table or the bad singers table, you'll get sent home. The shitty thing is you get assigned to tables randomly, so you don't even know what table you're at. This isn't a confirmed system; I just heard it from a girl who's auditioned 3 times before. It sounds legit to me, though.
i auditioned in chicago and i swear only tables 1 and 5 were letting people through. the table thing sucks. it's like of all the random luck you need, you also need to be assigned to the right table too!
i remember that jordin sparks didn't even get through to the judges at her first audition (not that i love jordin sparks but i think it speaks ~wonders of the audition process)
Yeah, they talked about her at the auditions. She didn't get past the first round of auditions in LA, but she went straight through in Seattle. The system is even more fickle than college admissions.
