And no Carly is nothing like Amy Lee. People need to stop acting like the invented that look/sound.
This, so much. Because Evanescene are like the most famous of that genre, people seem to think they invented the genre. Like, I remember when Nighwish started to get bigger and gain more recognition, then Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil, the first thing people did was compare them to Evanescence because they were ~female fronted~, even though they don't really sound similar. It's pretty ridic tbh. Every time a ffm band surfaces they're doomed to be compared to Evanescence.

I think if you just listen to Evanescence casually and know the radio songs that she sounds pretty much like Amy Lee. but that's for the people who don't really listen to these bands a lot (they probably think it all sounds the same anyway).

To me it kind of sounds like Nightwish IDK. But I like it; it has the Evanescence appeal and won't alienate fans unless they're all "NO AMY LEE WTF I HATE THIS BAND".

I dont think they sound alike either. I listened to the song yesterday on their myspace, it's really good! I dont love it but I like it.
