Probably better for her, anyhow - how good is an album that's rushed from zero to release in less than two months going to be, anyhow? As long as they allow the release once the show's over.
Actually she'd benefit more from a rushed album. By the time she releases one AFTER the tour/after the winner's album absolutely no one will care or remember her.
It doesn't say they'll necessarily make her wait that long - just until the show is over and the winner's single is released. And what better publicity for her new album than the tour?
Do you remember how poorly the last tour did? The people who attend the Idol concerts are not the people labels are concerned with.
Right now people who don't even watch the show are hearing her name, seeing videos of her singing on news shows...etc. NOW is the time to capitalize, not months from now.
I would buy her album in a heartbeat but I'm glad they're not bending the rules for her...if past contestants weren't allowed, she's not allowed, no matter how pushy Interscope is.
Good for you 19E...as many failures as you guys have had...I agree with this decision
Yeah, that'll be weird for her to release something when the winner hasn't been announced yet. What would be the motivation for the other contestants to try and win then? If they did flex the rules for her, and I was a contestant, I'd start aiming for a shock boot instead. LOL

But the whole thing seemed pretty strange so I'm glad to see the rules still exist for her. LOL.
