I AGREE TOO. Like I thought season 7 was really cool with all the musicians but now it's gotten to the point where that's valued more than singing and it just doesn't work well for television. I don't want to watch people who are just kind of good at a lot of things, I want to see people who are really spectacularly good at something, which is what I miss most about older seasons of Idol.

Exactly. Like with people like David Archuleta or Cook, they probably WOULD HAVE lasted without their instruments, but Casey almost certainly wouldn't and that's just not what it's all about for me.

I agree and disagree with what she had to say about instruments because I liked that they added it so that idol can ~evolve, but there are a lot of people who do seem like better musicians than singers. It just works better when there's a better cast overall though.

Yeah, I don't mind people playing instruments, I just think that's become too big a part of the show. It should be like a bonus and not the main attraction.
