Did he just kind of imply that his success on AI was a result of his "tragic backstory", and that therefore it shows good things can come out of bad?

Because... Danny... just, NO. Stop talking. Get a better PR person. Don't open your mouth near a media outlet again until you're 100% sure you're not going to accidentally imply that your wife's death was for the best, because it brought you 'fame and fortune' or whatever. OMG. :(

He used the words "tragic backstory", which is very unsettling to me. It's like it was his conscious aim and objective to work that angle.
