I just met the Swan.. in person. (now with pictures and VIDEO!)

So I'm a bit of a lurker, really. I've been hanging around since the Olympics, but I don't post much. But I just HAD to share...

Today, this ONTD_S fan met the fabulous and radiant Johnny G Weir in person. I got hugged, not once, but TWICE. He is small and delicate, and so adorable. He gives EXCELLENT hugs. AND HE TOO THINKS EVAN IS ORANGE!

Radiant beautiful Johnny beckons you inside...

He was in DC doing a gay pride month event at the Washington DC Macy's at Metro Center. It started at 5:30. My sister and I got there around 5:10, and we were numbers 4 and 5 to get there. He didn't come out until around 5:45, but they gave us free booze and shrimp so it was all good. He hosted a mini-fashion show, where he introduced the male models, told us what they were wearing, providing some lovely color commentary in the process.

It was magnificent. He kept calling his favorite model "13 pack" and telling the boys to shake their butts for gay pride.

13 pack:

Once each model had come out in 4 outfits each, he posed for pics with them all, two of which were in their underwear and a t-shirt. Did a short Q&A and then we lined up for autographs.

During the Q&A he was asked about doing the Rupaul show, if he was going to be doing any designing of his own (she didn't know about the edressme.com dresses, he informed her), about his advice to skaters who've been at it a long time and need encouragement, and then he answered my question. I asked which of his competitive programs were his favorite. He said it was a tie between 2006's Swan, and the 2010 Fallen Angel. He mentioned the sparkly ribs.

Someone (apparently it was tazeredtiger !! and it totally did not ruin the mood!)  asked if there were any programs or ideas he'd had that he hadn't followed through with, or wish he'd had the chance to do. He mentioned one he had chucked out after it was completely choreographed but had never debuted, wishing he hadn't been such a diva when he was a teenager. Then someone asked when he was returning to skating. He said he was taking one more year off, and thinks he'll be back for 2012-2013!!! I know a lot can change but I had a mini-heart attack when he said that! ! !

Then during the autograph session I had a moment with him. And I wrote it down right after it happened so I wouldn't forget any of it.

First he gave me a big hug (side note: he smells divine). Then I handed him his book to sign and then this happened:

J - Hi! How are you?
Me - I'm fine. I'm just so excited to get to finally meet you!
J - I'm glad to get to meet you too.
Me - (motions to book) I've read it twice already.
J - Oh did you like it?
Me - Of course I did. It's amazing.
J - You know what is my favorite part of the whole book is?
Me - No...
J - The picture of me and Evan from the Olympics.
Me - The one where you're both smiling but looking kind of awkward at the same time?
J - (nods)
Me - That's how I kind of imagine your whole relationship is with him.
J - (nods again) Exactly right.
My sister: Johnny you have way better hair then Evan though.
Me - Of course you do!
J - (laughs)
Me - You have a better tan too!
J - (preens, and smiles)
Me - (quietly) Some of my friends make fun of his tan. They think he's orange.
J - Honey, he is orange! Evan's a fan of tanning booths, but then he goes and gets a spray tan on top of it. How else do you think he gets to be that color? (shakes his head)

Then he signed a photograph for my friend C, gave me a second hug, and told us to stay out of the horrid heat, and thanked us for coming. Oh and he posed for a picture with me!!! I know we talked about more than that, but the awesomeness of him calling Evan orange and being so radiant and beautiful and nice has left me brain dead. This was my first live in person Johnny Weir experience. I made him laugh, we poked fun at Evan together, I called him out for being a diva, and he hugged me TWICE. goes off to la-la land for the night.

Video from the Q&A now posted! :D :D :D
