While I'm not denying this is a good thing, I would like to see the same thing happen with Protestant paramilitary groups, particularly since (1) many more Catholics than Protestants were killed during The Troubles (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/topics/troubles_violence), (2) David Cameron recently reneged on a promise to hold a public inquiry into the 1989 assassination of Patrick Finucane (a Catholic solicitor in Belfast who was shot by paramilitaries while at supper with his wife and children: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-21283169).

I also think that the long history of systematic injustice towards Catholics in Northern Ireland bears noting.

I agree. I think all murdering, community destroying scumbags, regardless of religious or political labels, should have to answer for what they've done. Whether that happens or not is another issue.

"Whether that happens or not is another issue."

I'd say it's an important issue as well, though.
