"Girl Most Likely" is Most Likely One of the Worst Movies You'll Wisely Ignore This Year

According to critics, "actor" Darrin Criss's new movie is a steaming pile of unfunny crap. Not even momentum from the smash success of Kristen Wiig's "Bridesmaids" could prevent this thing from bombing.

We could've told you that just from seeing the trailer, and not much more than that really needs to be said, but we've got a big post about it for you anyway.

Darrin's portrayal of a straight guy who covers pop music and isn't an ~attention whore~ (a character much like himself, according to Darrin) was acceptably mediocre among the awful straining-to-be-witty blandness of this entire film, earning his performance such glittering praise as: "an affable presence" [x] and "boy toy who makes warm feel like the new hot" [x]. But shockingly, despite "acting" praise like that, no reviewers have called for any award nominations yet.

Sadly, there were also intelligent detractors.
"Imogene has no chemistry with Lee (“Glee” star Darren Criss, who’s not ready for the big screen), yet Morgan’s script labors to put them together." [x]
"“Girl Most Likely” is a poorly written comedy crammed with clichés and lackluster performances.  [...]  Wiig and company are dull and clueless." [x]
"Wiig’s woe-is-me waggishness is on a low burn here [...] Bening and Dillon are equally misused, and the rest of the cast is frankly just annoying." [x]

(We can assume that Darrin is included in the "company" and "rest of the cast" parts of those last two quotes, since those reviews -- along with about half of the Rotten Tomatoes critic reviews overall -- didn't bother to even name-drop him at all.)

Another review said of the cast's performance: "(But hey, at least they leave an impression, however negative it may be -- Criss, in contrast, is so bland, he barely registers onscreen.)" [x] Damn, that's cold!

Thankfully, in spite of the film being widely disemboweled (and Darrin being widely unmentioned) by critics, loyal fangirls were there to save the opening day at the box office. Literally dozens of Darren fans across the country immediately flocked to the few theaters hosting GML's very limited release.

Although, to be fair, there are a few non-Darrin stans that have gone to see it today, as evidenced by the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes beginning to plummet.

If you're reading this now and you're one of the remaining handful of fangirls thinking about paying good money to see this bomb just so you can see the tame sex scene -- save your money, sis. We've got all the lq action you want right here. Fifty whole seconds of completely flat line delivery and awkwardly crouched kissing/thrusting.
