As I get older, I find that I'm going to conventions mainly to hang out with friends rather than to see guests of honor or attend programming.

True, but it depends on who a convention gets, and if I have anything I can get autographed.

Yeah, I kinda wish I could have made it to Otakon this year, because I would have tried to get SOMETHING signed by Shoji Kawamori. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where my VHS copy of Macross Plus is at the moment.
