Sebastian did not look like a man who had recently survived being crushed by a falling building. He was impeccably dressed in his usual formal suit, his posture as perfect as ever and his movements effortlessly graceful. There wasn't a visible scratch left on him. Even the worst of it-- the vicious cut on his side, stitched by Master Gavin-- did not seem to trouble him at all. The title demon butler was not an empty one.

He was meeting the enemy over coffee. But if the idea of that bothered him, it did not show remotely on his face. His main concern at the moment was his master, Rhode, and her hobbies as of late. Hobbies which apparently included slipping out from under his careful watch and murdering for internet prime time. His job was rarely an easy one. Still, he knew his duties: keep his master safe. If that meant dealing with an enemy, then so be it ( ... )

Jinx picked up another chair to throw into a wall. Snarling, she braced herself, but was caught off guard by the fact that Sebastian had been standing there for a while now. Dropping the chair, she turned to him and quickly did something completely unexpected in her own mind. Once she had done it, she wanted to kick herself, but she found herself wrapping her arms around Sebastian in a thankful embrace. Pressing her head into his chest, she took in deep breaths. "She's a fucking idiot..." she grumbled. And after taking in another deep breath, she not only pulled him away, but pushed him in the chest to get away from her as if he was the one who initiated the embrace.

"Sebastian... I got a message on my phone..." she began, moving her distance away from him, kicking aside some of the rubble. Groaning, she sat back down in the booth. Crossing one leg over the other, she put her head in her hands. "I'm not sorry we tried to kill each other. I am sorry I didn't finish the job, but I'm impressed at how good you look." Giving him a weak ( ... )

It was one of those rare occasions where Sebastian found himself mildly startled. It was rarer still, though, for him to be embraced, and therefore, he found his own surprise more acceptable. After all, the girl who had recently attempted to squash him under a three story building was now wrapped around him, apparently grateful for his presence. He was far too old to remember what young hormones were like, but he suspected them as the cause. That, or psychosis ( ... )

The young assassin snarled, then gave off a low growl. She clenched her fists and closed her glowing eyes, taking in deep breaths. This was not time to destroy a coffeehouse. This was time to strike a deal with Sebastian. It was time to talk, not smash. Almost literally smoldering, she took a moment of silence to try and calm her temper. When she opened her eyes again, they were back to their normal state, and she slowly uncurled her fists. Slowly, she came to sit back down at the booth across from him and sighed heavily. When she looked into his eyes, she saw his annoyance and gave a light smile.

"You can cut the crap, you know. You don't have to be the perfect butler around me. I mean, we have to have some special bond or something by now. I've never talked to a man after I killed him who responded back." She put her forehead in her palm and took another deep breath. Around them, a bit of the rubble shuddered, but nothing more than that ( ... )
