There was still a bit of shock left, that Peter actually agreed to this.

Of his own free will.

Without any known types of mind control or brainwashing.

Adam was all dressed and ready and hopefully Peter wouldn't be standing him up. Which, as they both roomed together, made it all the more difficult for Peter to try something like that. And he really didn't feel like giving the bouquet of flowers to a homeless guy as a consolation prize in the great game of life, so Peter had better not.

And with that, he rang the doorbell - never mind the fact that this was technically his residence - and hoped for the best.

The doorbell rang. Peter made a face at his reflection, before turning off the light, and heading out the bathroom, down the hall for the door. He couldn't see Adam in the living room, or in the kitchen along the way. It appeared the man was nowhere to seen - possibly hiding or out buying more booze.

Sighing heavily, he turned the knob, and opened the door to a rather surprising sight.

What the - Adam Monroe, cleaned up, not smelling like whiskey, and carrying flowers. Way to make him feel like a woman.

"Um, thanks?" Peter said uncertainly. He wasn't usually on the receiving end of this.

"Interesting way to go about answering your door. Thank you as well," Adam smirked and handed the flowers to Peter, "Just a small token of my appreciation."

And Peter did keep true to his promise, not looking at all like a loafer. Especially not a common one.

Adam really had to admit, he approved of this, and the approval was quite obvious even in how he was looking at Peter. Appreciatively, and not at all sleazily.

"You look a bit surprised. Why is that?" Not like he really needed to ask, but he was curious just how Peter would answer it.

"You gave me flowers," he said blankly, sniffing them. White, yellow, purple - an array of light colors. At least it wasn't roses. That would be too cliche. Peter had to wonder where Adam had gotten the money to buy these - his wallet? He'll have to count his money later to make sure.

Shaking his head, he turned to a small table inside the hall, and placed the flowers on top. They should be fine by the time he gets back from wherever.

He hoped they didn't share sock drawers. He would hate to see what Adam considered socks, and what Adam considered 'clean' socks. Peter took pride in his organized, neat sock drawer.

The inside of the restaurant was just as impressive. Small, cozy, with dim lights to create some sort of 'mood' he guessed. The hostess led them to a table in the corner, neatly tucked away from most bawdy restaurant going people. Peter took off his sunglasses, folding them, tucking them away into his shirt pocket, and sat down.

"Nice," he muttered, accepting the menu from their hostess, and flipping through.

About time he took off those glasses. Adam swore that if Peter had kept them on in some weird attempt at making sure Adam was intimidated by his own reflection, he would have made pouty faces at Peter all night long until he caught a hint.

But there they went, along with a split second of Peter seeming to be alarmed yet again. Which was then immediately replaced by Peter warming up to the restaurant and to Adam.

Adam picked up the menu, looking through it. "So Peter. What are you in the mood for tonight?"

"Uh," he started, still reading what they had. The usual steak, appetizers, salad. A dozen things, and he had to pick only one for tonight unless Adam was in the mood for emptying his wallet. However, Peter wouldn't purposefully do that even if he offered. He didn't like wasting people's money.

Frowning, he closed the menu, and made a motion for the wine list before stopping. Adam. Alcoholic. Right. Shouldn't do that.

"Have you been here before?"

Adam nodded towards the wine list. "Go ahead. You can look. I'm fine here, Peter."

There was a sudden urge to break into song, perhaps break some of the tension here so Peter would feel more at ease. But chances are, random serenades in a restaurant was the last thing that could benefit the situation right now.

"Here? No, this is my first time. I suppose you could say I do my research more than adequately." There was temptation to make a crack about restaurant virginity but Adam held that one back.
