Being carried in his arms, she grew sleepy. He was warm. As they walked, she fiddled with the buttons on his trench coat. She nuzzled her head against him. This was nice, him carrying her. He smelled nice. Slowly, Jinx's eyes closed and then next time she opened them she was being moved so he could get his keys. She was actually startled by him, fidgeting in his arms. Before she could throw herself away from him, she remembered who he was and what had happened. Calming down, she relaxed back against him. Watching him kick off his shoes, to follow suit, she slipped off her platformed boots and they fell to the ground with a loud thud. They were both Japanese. It was a cultural thing ( ... )

Jushirou had been washing the dishes he had used to make Jinx's soup and tea, though his ear had also been trained to the others. He had known Shunsui was coming...and was almost comforted by that fact given he heard what could have been weapons falling. He turned to the other man with a soft smile.

"It's not problem, Shunsui...no matter who she is, I can never turn those in need away. I trust you."

Bringing Jinx into their home may have been a grave mistake. With her always came a trail of bad luck, whether she did ill deeds or random acts of kindness. It never seemed to matter with her. Bad luck followed her everywhere she went, and not just because of her powers. If she dropped off the radar for a while, people would question her whereabouts. In this town, she was part of, what she believed in her mind to be, the strongest family. And not only did she work under them, she was an assassin and did everything she was told. If a mission came up to kill someone's grandmother, she would take it without hesitation, all to climb the ranks, all to be Gin's special girl ( ... )

"Sounds like she's out of the shower. I'd better give her this" Shunsui held up a light blue kimono that was the smallest one he could find between their closets combined. It was one of Jushirou's, little wonder, and it really wasnt that much smaller than the rest.

"You really are an unbelivebly good man, Jushirou" Shunsui added as he went out of the kitchen and down to the bathroom,

"Ah- Jinx? I found a Kimono for you to wear" He announced himself, before peeking inside.

She heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway and her muscles tensed. Yet with that action, an aching shot through her body so she relaxed. Closing her eyes, she listened as he came closer. What would be the easiest option at the moment? Her gun was right beside her on the counter. Easily, she could put a bullet in his head. But... why? What good did killing people do? Especially those who were trying to help. These men were trying to help her, so did they deserve to die? Did anyone deserve to die? A pounding headache began to surface and she decided not to ponder upon something so deep for now ( ... )

"Well, I have rope" Shunsui gave a wry smile, holding up a small bundle of cords. "First, just tie it on like a robe, with the left side on top" He said, holding the garment up by the shoulders so Jinx could easily slip it on while he looked down the hall toward the kitchen.

This was... interesting. Grinning, she let her towel drop to the floor and paused for a moment, watching him as he looked away. Why did she have to be so tired? Injured? Starving? Under any other circumstances, this moment would have been a fantastic one indeed. Yet right now she would not have the energy to go through with anything she was skillfully planning. Sighing, she slipped the kimono on and tried to find her hands in the mess of fabric. Once that was solved, she wrapped it around her body, tightening it over her childlike waist. While her dress was loose on her body for many different reason, this was meant to cling to her curves, showing that she actually did have some. But how was she supposed to tie it in place ( ... )

Shunsui stood behind her and tied the cord at her waist, before he pulled up a fold of fabric to get the hem at her ankles. It was easiest for him to do like this, as though he was dressing himself. He just had to take up a lot more length than usual. That was tucked up and tied down.

"You know, in old days they'd use extravagant kimono and hakama-pants to keep Samurai from fighting indoors. If they tried to move, they fell flat on their face" Shunsui told her, as he unfolded a long rust colored obi to tie around her waist. Her waist was so small there was plenty to put in a soft bow behind her back.

As he stood behind her, she kept a close eye on his reflection in the mirror. Most of it was to keep track of his movements, a small portion was to see exactly how this kimono thing worked, and the last bit was just because she liked looking at him. The look on Shunsui's face intrigued her; his soft, kind eyes. For the time being, she enjoyed the close contact. Human contact was always nice. It calmed Jinx, or excited her depending. Right now, it was a mixture of both. Feeling his hands work to fit the kimono to her made her feel much more comfortable, yet sparked different sorts of emotions in her that he may have not approved of ( ... )

"How about the soup Jushirou made?" Shunsui asked, picking her up and carrying her towards the kitchen.

Jushirou had just finished cleaning up and made a few more adjustments to the makeshift bed he had set up for Jinx in the living room. He fluffed the pillow, straightened out the blanket, and made certain everything was neat and inviting looking.

"The canteen should have kept it nice and not. Same with the tea. Now, if you two will excuse me, I've got a long day of work at the shop tomorrow and really ought to be heading to bed," he said with a gracious smile, bowing to them both.

"Shunsui, I trust you will make certain to see that she eats well and sleeps. Turn off the lights when you're done," he added, subtly hinting at Shunsui to keep an eye on her.

As she was lifted up into his arms, his frowned a little more than just a bit. She was not looking for that answer, she was looking for something much better than soup. Then again, soup sounded just as good as sex for the time being. Both would make her feel good, but one would stop the pain she was feeling. The pain of hunger was hurting much more than the need for human contact, and being in his arms was good enough for now. The trip down the hallway to the living room nearly put her to sleep anyway ( ... )

"Sleep well, Jushirou. I'll take care of everything" Shunsui nodded. He would be ever vigilant.

"How about some food before you drift off?" Shunsui asked Jinx, laying her down on the couch after Ukitake went to his room. He keeled down by her side and opened the canteen to pour her some soup. It looked and smelled delicious, there was no doubting that Jushirou had a way with balance.

When Jinx was laid down on the couch, she felt like she would never have to be moved again. Sadly enough, their living room couch was ten times more comfortable than her own bed. Easily, she got comfortable, barely able to keep her eyes open now. This journal was coming to an end, and with it was starting a new beginning. She needed to find Gin... but what if he did not want to be found. What if he was gone for a reason. The thing that hurt the most was... why didn't he say goodbye ( ... )

"Maybe it's not worth trying to understand the actions of others" Shunsui said, sitting on the floor next to the couch and making himself comfortable. "They may not understand their own actions either" He said as he smiled gently.

He wanted to ask about the person Jinx had put herself into the condition for... Ichimaru Gin. He felt that when he knew who this Gin person was, he'd know a great deal more about who Jinx was.

It was no use. She could not finish the rest of the soup. Groaning, she handed it back to Shunsui. "I'm sorry, I... my stomach can't take it." So, he may have not understood his own actions, either. Putting the back of her hand on her forehead, she closed her eyes and tried to calm her stomach down. After a long moment of concentration, she felt like she was not going to vomit too much, then settled down into the couch. Her usually bright, pink eyes gazed at him, tired and relaxed. This was probably the calmest he would ever see her ( ... )
