Hei didn't think it would help the situation to point out that the only reason he was in a "mood" was because his commander was in one as well. He paused in the doorway between the kitchen and the living room, setting a hand on the wall as he turned back to look at Gin. "Perhaps I will be in a more suitable mood tomorrow," he suggested mildly, knowing that his words were bordering on insubordination. Though his tone didn't betray his mood, he knew that his words would as much as his posture had already.
It surprised even Gin how quickly he closed the space between them. One minute he was across the room, the next he was there in Hei's personal space, fingers curling around the rise of Hei's shoulder, pulling him backwards and turning him to face him.
"No," Gin said sweetly, "I do not think I will wait that long, Hei." His eyes smoldered with some dark emotion that Hei had not seen before, something slippery and hidden that moved across his face like eels through water. It was a rare thing for Gin, to feel his ego so sharply bruised. The knowledge of Rangiku's escapades had not angered him, but seeing the actual proof on her skin, marks marring the flesh that was rightfully his, enraged him. He would not allow himself to be slighted twice in once night, not by the ones he claimed to control. Gin grinned, showing teeth. "What has happened to your eagerness, naa?"
It had been a long time since someone had had to use physical means to force Hei into submission, and certainly Gin had never had to go so far. Hei had always served the other man willingly, by his own free will. And he had better control than that, he reminded himself, frowning at the floor as if it had displeased him as much as he seemed to have displeased Gin. Emotions were dangerous, if you couldn't control them. That was another thing his commander had taught him.
So, even as the emotions swirled behind his eyes, the rest of his face didn't betray them when he looked up to meet the other man's eyes. "I'm always eager," he replied, voice mild and only wavering slightly. "Eager and awaiting your next command."
Bowing his head slowly closer to Hei's, Gin searched Hei's expression for the truth behind his cool, unflinching facade. He wanted very much to sink his claws into Hei at that very moment, to peel back all of the hardness that Gin had taught him to construct over the years, and expose the soft pink places deep inside his young second, the places where Gin knew he held the most sway -- hidden places that he knew Hei would not share with even him

There was something slightly stifling about the way Hei gripped at his body, the way he clung to him in his vulnerability at that moment; Gin mused that it felt somewhat like a noose. But, he reasoned, death upon the galleys had never appealed to him as much as this, the prospect of being weighed down by another human being never felt so attractive and sweet. He laughed again, small and short, little more than a breath against Hei's mouth, and then kissed him again, fully and deeply, having Hei taste the bitterness on his tongue and his teeth, the gift he had given him, the reward they both shared. "Ara," Gin whispered, nodding over his shoulder. "Come, naa, Hei, you can hardly stand." He pulled away slowly, showing reluctance in the slow release. As he stepped away, he allowed one of his hands to trail down Hei's chest and his arm, giving him the smallest tug when he finally caught his hand.
Managing to get his boxers up and kick off his pants and walk at the same time proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hei was capable of forcing his body to do just about anything with enough motivation. And Gin was motivation enough for anything. Following his commander, Hei was more than a little bit surprised to find himself being led to Gin's room. The room hadn't exactly been a forbidden territory, but Hei had never actually been further in than the doorway. It occurred to him that the man had never invited him in, and that out of respect he had never violated that area of trust.
Anxiety and nerves kick-started again in his stomach, but his face didn't betray them-he was too used to keeping those particular feeling from effecting him at all-but it showed up in his eyes for a moment as he glanced around the room and then looked back to Gin.
Gin felt the smallest twitch in Hei's hand when they entered the room and response, he turned with an eyebrow perched high, even though he had expected some kind of reaction. He laughed, without cruelty, as he saw the wave of hesitation in Hei's eyes.
"Tch, not that look again, naa, Hei-chan?" He pulled the young man close again, their bodies colliding and almost tripping over the bed. He took Hei's hands and wrapped them once again around his waist, mimicking their earlier position when he had clung to his body, for Gin longed to feel that noose tighten around his neck once again. "Ara, I'm starting to think you are scared of me, naa?" He kissed him again, teasingly, longingly.
To deny that would have been at least partially a lie, Hei realized, though it wasn't an active feeling. He didn't worry that the man didn't value his young second's loyalty, that he would turn on him, that he would do him damage. But he did worry, every once in a while, that something he would do would displease the man, that he would take a wrong step and lose everything the last five years had built between them.
"Aa, don't tease me like that now, Ichimaru-sama," he murmured against the man's lips, his voice somewhere between pleading and teasing. He nibbled lightly on his commander's lower lip. "I might agree to anything."
Life on the streets and in the box had left several indelible marks on Ichimaru Gin's life. Perhaps the clearest and most readily noticed being his inability to sleep soundly and fully. He mostly dozed, hovering between waking and sleeping, his mind drifting off into elaborate daydreams that precluded by never really led to sleep. He listened to Hei's breathing in the thick silence of the room, wanting its low, steady rhythm to lull him to proper rest, but no. Despite the warmth of the body pressed up against him, the full satisfaction of his orgasm still thrumming through his body in ever decreasing waves, sleep eluded him, it teased him, but Gin was too used to his restlessness to be bothered. Beside him, Hei seemed to sleep deeply and without any of the nightmares of the past

It simply hadn't occurred to him to stay until Gin woke up. Hei had woken up, slightly disoriented until the memories of the night before had come rushing back, reminding him where he was, and that the warmth at his back was the man he served, the man he owed his life, the man he

"I do not sleep, Hei," Gin said quietly, his breath tickling the side of the young man's face. "You will learn that quickly enough." A hand moved across the front of Hei's body, palm barely grazing the skin of his chest, his arms, the flat plan of his stomach, before finally moving to turn him so he lay prone once again on his back. Gin crawled slowly on top of him, finding a space there between his warm thighs, one hand tickling a path down his chest, the other bracing himself besides Hei's head. Gin smiled and drank deeply from the young man's expression. The faintest widening of the eyes, and indication of surprise, but why? Surely he had made himself clear enough the night before, but perhaps, there were still lingering doubts in his second's mind. His grin widened

It was an interesting reverse of their position from last night, Hei thought, staring up at the other man. But now, in the morning light, Gin was as in control-of the situation, of himself, of Hei-in a way that Hei hadn't been even when their positions had been reversed. He fought not squirm beneath Gin's body and beneath his gaze, and had to swallow-his mouth suddenly dry-had to lick his lips, as he tried to remember how to string coherent words into speech. He clutched at the sheets, not knowing what else to do with his hands.
"Iie," he murmured finally, trying to speak around his pounding heart, which seemed to have taken up residence in his throat. "I haven't grown tired of this... Gin."
