To be honest, this wasn't quite Gin's idea of an afternoon well-spent, but, he thought with a small shrug of his shoulders, it couldn't be helped. With White Anemone out of the streets and the Don Monacello calling for their best behavior, he thought it best to play it safe and keep an eye on their latest acquisition himself. It was a tedious task, one that required much of his attention and patience, but he knew first-hand that such an investment in a young soldier early on would eventually pay for itself in the long-run ( ... )

Kaoru descended the central stairway and paused upon seeing the familiar Monacello House members in his store. He hadn't been expecting to see any of the family so soon after the announcement of his upcoming event.

It looked like Rhode was having fun and Gin was at least amused, so Kaoru put on a pleasant smile and walked over to greet his customers. "Buona sera to you both. Are you finding everything all right?"

Rhode popped out from behind some clothes with a rather nonplussed expression, resisting her immense temptation to stick her tongue out at Gin. "I've never broken anything, yet!" She didn't bother waiting for a reply before going back to her exploring, but hearing someone address her caught her attention again.

Making her way back over to Gin, she stood slightly behind him and to one side, slightly distracted by one of the garments she brushed against as she tried to listen to whatever conversation was going to occur.

Turning to Kaoru with the slightest of bows, Gin stepped aside to reveal Rhode, taking her carefully under his shoulder and pulling her slightly forward. "Kaoru-kun, how are you, naa? We've come in the hopes you could help us with our little Rhode. She has been away from home for too long, and is in need of your type of attention, naa?" He tugged at one of the big sleeves of her ill-fitting sweatshirt. "A Monacello cannot go walking around town in anything less than the best."

Kaoru balked a little at the capo's comment. "I wasn't aware that was public knowledge, sir..." He cleared his throat a little before moving to stand in front of Rhode.

"Naturally I would hate to see any young lady wander the streets in anything but the latest fashions," Kaoru admitted before walking over to the racks and looking through a few shirts for starters. "Do you have a preferred style or color choice, Signora Rhode?"

Looking down at the sweatshirt with a soft sigh as Gin pointed it out, Rhode had to wonder if it was a habit of these upper-class criminal sorts to insult someone in every imaginable way on a normal basis. She just had to wait for a comment about fleas, and then this conversation would fill all her expectations.

"I... kind of like pink and purple?" It was almost a question, since she wasn't entirely sure off the top of her head. "Pink and purple and black. Maybe red."
