Squalo had come alone...much against Tizziano's insistence. He'd taken meticulous care into insuring he was presented respectfully. While he still wore his trademark headband and unusual hair, his suit was nothing more than black on black on black. Nothing more, nothing less ( ... )

Uryu Ishida arrived on time unlike his mun as always. His expression was controlled, if a little melancholy, and despite his usual penchant for white, this time, he arrived in a traditional black suit, white shirt, dark blue tie. This was a house of mourning, and he knew mourning all too well. He was not going to disrespect it.

Quietly, slowly, he entered, and, inexplicably, a chill ran down his spine. Yes, it was quiet. Yes, it was still. Just as it should be. But something was off. Something was wrong, and apparently the man who had arrived just before him sensed it, too.

Ishida silently brushed passed him, his pace quickening when no response was forthcoming.

The door was open.

Everything was in place. She couldn't have left, unless...

Suddenly, Uryu turned to Tizziano, his voice quiet, sharp, precise, as he withdrew from his suit his badge.

"Sir, I'd like you to stay close by. I may need to hold you for questioning later."

I'll forgive you for mistaking the names because lord knows I used to all the time. sharkycantfail October 29 2008, 17:23:16 UTC
Squalo could barely hear the bespectacled AMC officer over the sound of himself crumpling to his knees on the floor. He was shaking as the reality of it all set into his already frail mind and blasted away. His eyes could do nothing but look at her in that state...a reality that in Squalo's mind was simply impossible. Hokuto would never be counted amongst the dead. This couldn't be happening. This COULDN'T be real!

And yet...there she was. No longer amongst the living...joined with Caiman in the heavenly host. And before Squalo could even answer the statement presented to him by Ishida, he broke into tears. The silent sobbing of a man slowly losing his grip on himself.

@_@ I'm so sorry! It was even right there in the tags! >_< I'd edit, but this is just a plus account quincyarciere October 29 2008, 17:29:51 UTC
Uryu closed his eyes in a moment of respect, but he couldn't afford anything more than that. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his cell phone and flipped it open, calling the number at the top of his list. He had prayed he'd never have to use it, but in a city like Reggio Calabria, any such hope was to be dashed, and dashed violently, against the hard rocks of reality.

"This is Officer Uryu Ishida. I'm reporting the death of one Hokuto Sumeragi."
