WHEN: Day 138, early evening. (Freeman messed her up night of 137)

The next sound heard was the click of the electronic lock on her private care room being opened. As the door slid open, their were three distinct sounds repeated in an irregular rhythm. Two foot steps...and a wooden sounding clunking noise. A person walking with a cane...

And then, Jushirou stepped into view, and had a look of near death on his face. But not caused by his own illness...but by the sight of his "daughter" in such a state of affairs. Seeing the initial state was more than enough to sicken him and cause rage to boil within...but seeing this simply sealed it.

"Do you need anything?"

Though the pain was enough to make her completely unable to think clearly, she knew well enough that the light clicking she heard was the sound of an electronic lock. There was no way to defend herself, not in this state. When she spun her head around to face the door, that being the only movement she felt she could make without opening her stitches, the world spun with it and she closed her eyes, trying to make sense of the world. The world told her that she wanted to lose the contents of her stomach, if it had anything in it, if she even still had a stomach. Waking up in hospital type beds usually meant she would be missing something she had before she was knocked out ( ... )

"Don't you dare do that to me, Jinx...my health isn't the more grave issue here," he said, a slight cough making its way out of him as he sat in the chair next to her bed. His body seemed to creak from the stiffness of bed rest as he attempted to make himself more comfortable. And when he looked at Jinx...he tried to look at her eyes.

"I'm not asking as a Detective or as your superior what happened...I'm asking as your father and someone who loves you."

Not being able to look him in the eye, she watched his three feet as he came toward her. A cane, he was using a cane, which meant he was weak and his legs could not support his full weight just yet. The best thing to do was keep at it until he became stronger again, but she could not help but feel terrible, feel at fault, because she was the one who pulled him out of bed. Why did Alba call him? He did not need the extra stress. When she handed him her phone, she gave instructions to call Komui, no one else, and then she did not remember anything after that. Papa did not need to have to deal with her mistakes, and now he looked as if he was suffering for them ( ... )
