Still quite obviously lost in his thoughts, it didn't strike fear into Raito's heart as much as it caused heavy suspicion, deep in the boy's gut like molten lead, when he approached a darker area of the path that he was taking ( ... )

As the kid passed the alley, Roger pulled the gun from his pants and make sure it was all ready. Hiding it behind his jacket to hide the sound of the weapon being cocked, he tugged the leather gloves on and clung to the shadow, thanking that his bright-blonde was disguised by the mask. A second glance took note of the kid's good clothes. Giving himself a mental pat on the back, he silently stepped forward in the void of the broken streetlight. He avoided the broken glass and shit on the street and reached out, gloved hand snatching the back of his collar and tossing him to the ground. Clicking the gun back, he pointed it at the kid's face.

"Gimme your fucking money and I won't fucking shoot you, kid."

He had no time to react, and it was with some amount of panic that he took in the sight of the weapon that was pointed between his eyes.

Raito glanced down the barrel, before he stared back up at the man, reaching into his bag and speaking at the same time.

"And if I don't have any on me?" Raito answered in English, calmly, if a bit confused-sounding and with a somewhat pinched expression.

It was true. He had been at work all evening, and having been working on his skills at tending bar, he hadn't gotten into the part of the job where tips were involved yet--not that he needed them, but it meant he had no cash. And while he had his identification on hand, he didn't have need for any of his debit or credit cards.
