Summary: Written for this prompt at inception_kink. While Arthur's busy shutting other people out, Ariadne's working her way into his heart.

( It all started with a pen, and the argument that went along with it. Well, really it started long before that with a man who rarely let anyone in and a woman who was impossible to keep out )

I'm glad you liked it! Hehe, I almost had Arthur using Ariadne's jacket as a blanket, just because I the image was so funny in my head, but I didn't want it to be too matchy to the prior warehouse sleeping scene :p But yeah, it would definitely not cover much...

The alternate ending was the original ending I wrote for this, but when I read over it again I didn't think it quite fit, and I wrote this one. But I spent almost two hours writing that thing, so I figured why not post it?

(also, I just wanted to let you know that I'm still hard at work for the i_reversebang story, but I wanted to wait until I had something a little more concrete before I e-mailed you again...mostly what I have now is outline/dialogue)

Wow, I LOVE this! Best A/A fic I've read so far, which is amazing because it's told from every perspective but theirs! I love all of the little details that you worked in, you really nailed the prompts. The section in the middle, before the resolution, had my heart physically aching. Sooo cute! I would love to see an Arthur POV of these same events, I think I'd die of love.

Hah, you should have seen me grinning like an idiot the whole time while I was reading this! :D

Besides loving Arthur and Ariadne, have I told you how much I love Eames? I always picture Phillipa at first having a crush on Arthur, and then moving on to Eames and Dom getting all uncomfortable and bothered. And kudos for the Yusuf love because he tends to be left out (even if he almost did get stabbed :D).

Thank you so much for filling the prompt! I just really wanted something where it showed how seemingly-insignificant things have an entirely hidden meaning (in this case, HUGE meaning).

I think this was my favorite line (I can SO imagine this happening): You read people for a living. You should have known better. Just Ariadne putting Eames in his place is hilarious to me. She's so tiny and feisty. (And Dom getting jealous... :)

The fic was beautiful, perfect, cute, etc. LOVE IT. <3

I'm so glad you liked it! I wasn't sure if it was going to be entirely what you were hoping for and I didn't want to disappoint, so I'm happy you enjoyed it! And yes! Philippa totally would start crushing on Arthur then shift to Eames as she got older :p Which, of course, would make Dom want to rip out all of his hair :p And Yusuf! I LOVE Yusuf and I love the idea of him and Ariadne as bffs, so I try to include him as much as possible in my fics!

Oh my gooooooood. This is fluff done right and done impeccably well - sweet and gentle but without being wildly out of character for either of them. And I love seeing it through the others' eyes. (And bonus points for Yusuf, who so often gets overlooked or erased entirely.) The team dynamic as a whole here is great.

I try to include him as much as possible because I love him and because I have this idea in my head that he and Ariadne are the best friends ever! And I'm glad you enjoyed the whole dynamic/the different perspectives! They were ridiculously fun to write (the million or so different scenes I wrote for this is a testament to that...)
