I am going to pay down my credit card with 3 payments of $800 and have it paid off by April 15. My logic is that my expenses are a lot lower during the tax busy season since work pays for our dinners, and shortly I will be at the office a lot and too tired to go out and spend money.

Good idea! I need to pay off all my bills in case I want to spontaneously quit my job one day.. haha
