or anybody else that might possibly know how to play a mandolin

yeah yeah stop snickering

does anybody have any suggestions on books or websites
I found the basic GDAE
and chords
but don't really know how to play
any ideas?

Yeah I got nothing on that one. I played around with one for about a week, but didn't pay any attention to what I was doing.

my boyfriend sean plays the mandolin, and he taught himself, too, so he could prolly help you a lot. he's xxseananthanxx on here. he doesn't ever post, but he'll respond to comments.

ok so it tunes backwards from a guitar/bass so you just form guitar chords upside down for the basics
things further up the neck i'm not so sure about
google mandolin chords fool

by the end of the summer i'll have a couple of cds complete that i've made with various musician friends of mine
i'm not sure who all uses a mandolin
