The ambiguous ending was a nice touch to a lovely, yet bittersweet tale.

Would love to tell Robin that her father was IN FACT abusive though. Putting out cigars on the arm of a child is not okay. But I get that it wouldn't be in character for Barney to launch into something like that.

I agree, it's definitely abusive. I just don't think that Robin would like to think of it that way, especially because there were only a few incidents. But it is definitely abuse. I think it just wouldn't be in her nature to admit it, especially because it didn't happen very often. And I agree about Barney. In my mind, it's something he may have brought up down the line but not launch into at this point in time. Thanks for reading!
